We understand that Student ministry is no longer the main influence in a teen’s life. In fact the main spiritual influencers are Mom, Dad and another caring adult (coach, teacher, boss, small group leader, etc.) involved in the teen’s life. Teenagers desire connections with adults yet in the latest surveys we find that at best the average teen has a significant connection with only 1.5 adults, including parents. In order to continue to have the maximum influence in students’ lives we can, we have been working on a strategy comprised of two key elements:
1 - Encouraging and equipping Parents to leverage the influence they already have as the spiritual leaders.
2 - Connecting teens with other caring adults from the Kingdom of God. We believe the Greatest gift we can give our Parents at FBC is: Another caring Adult involved in the lives of their teen saying the same things they are saying at home.
We call this strategy ORANGE. ORANGE believes that two combined influences are greater than just two influences alone.
